I suspect that the "show" entry counts as one play on the stats page. By "show", I mean when you finish watching a TV show that has ended and mark it as watched, an entry is added under "show" on its tracking history page. There are separate tabs for “all”, “show” and “episodes” there. So basically, if you watched a 10 episode TV series it counts as 10+1 plays.
One example: I have watched 53 episodes of a show in 2024, but the stats page lists 54 plays.
