This basically similar on how Trakt, Letterboxd and SIMKL behaves. Current implementation in the web is only on search bar as autocomplete, but it doesn't redirect and requires user to pick the actual one. Plus, it doesn't return anything if user queried it through advanced search.
Example for An Observation Log of My Fiancée Who Calls Herself a Villainess on each platforms using IMDb ID:
trakt v2: trakt.tv/search/imdb/tt40546935
SIMKL: simkl.com/search/?q=tt40546935 (no need to set type)
Letterboxd, movie only, searching for The Good Dinosaur: letterboxd.com/imdb/tt1979388/
Those 3 services also allow to lookup through TMDB ID, but the workflow is slightly different.
trakt v2: search/tmdb/288590?id_type=show
SIMKL: ?q={full tmdb url}
Letterboxd; /tmdb/105864/
