Collection

It might be interesting to add a "collection list" to indicate which movies and TV shows you own on DVD, Blu-ray, digital, etc.

This 100%. This is the single most important thing to me and whoever makes this happen like Trakt had it previously will get me for life.

It should basically be a Collection and from there you can select Digital (+ Plex / Emby / Jellyfin auto import) or Physical (track your DVD / Blu-ray Collection etc).

That way the TV guide can show all the things you own that have new episodes coming this week (not just shows you’ve watched - again, can be filtered by “only show what I’ve watched” or “show all in my collection”

You can also go to trending TV / Movies and hide your already collected OR already watched OR both.

+1, one of the features that kept me at Trakt for so long. Until their new leadership decided nobody cares about physical media and retconned their Collection feature into a “Library” designed primarily to track what one has downloaded into Plex/Emby/whatever—and removed most manual management of it, relying on sync add-ons.

I still have my old Collection data in automatic backups (another feature they discontinued) and would love to see it again in WeTrakr—plus add the discs I’ve bought in the last year or two.

From memory, the fields Trakt once supported for collected media were:

    • Media format (DVD/BD/digital/VHS/maybe Laserdisc?)

    • Resolution (480p, 576p, 720p, 1080p, 2160p)

    • Audio channels (2.0, 2.1, 5.1, 7.1, …)

    • Audio format (PCM, FLAC, AAC, Dolby Digital, probably several more I forgot)

    • When you collected it (editable timestamp, just like a history entry)

WeTrakr might understandably not want to just replicate what Trakt had, but I’m in favor of capturing as much structured data as possible so it can be used for filters. (Bonus points if WeTrakr does this and allows “collecting” multiple formats; Trakt restricted you to just one, which folks usually used for the highest-quality version they owned.)

I had replied to this in the “old” thread. Replying again, yes, this is one that i would sup[port wholeheartidly. Not only items you own, any “collection” you want to keep with the option to remove items from the collection. If your a trekkie, keep all Star Trek Movies and Shows in your “Collection” for example, just because you want to have them all at hand.
