Slug-based URLs for movies, shows, and episodes

In over a decade at Trakt I became very used to just typing in trakt.tv/shows/slugified-title or trakt.tv/movies/obscure-indie-flick-1990 to quickly navigate right to the item I wanted without even having to touch the search box.

And similarly, if I was just about to watch (or just finished) an episode of something, I could almost always just type trakt.tv/shows/star-trek-deep-space-nine/seasons/1/episodes/19 (with the help of partial auto-complete from my browser) and BAM, be right there ready to mark it as watched & give it a rating.

WeTrakr uses its own numeric IDs for items directly in URL routes, which obviously doesn’t let that approach work for me any more.

Besides the above, I think including a slug-ified version of the title directly in the link also makes it more sharing-friendly since recipients can see exactly what you’re sending them before they even click.
