Add a monthly calendar
It would be great to have an option for a monthly calendar view in addition to the current weekly one, in particular for the Following section, since Following wouldn't have as many items, and being able to see what is coming up, for example my show premieres in the next month would be very helpful.
Anime as a Separate Media Type (With Dedicated Lists)
In current state we have 2 types Movies and Shows leaving Anime scattered across both forcing users to switch back and forth. It’d be a huge quality-of-life improvement to have Anime be categorized as a separate type (Like Simkl) with it’s own watchlist, history, favorites, and recommendations (in future). This will make managing anime much easier. Key Considerations: Grouping: Unlike Simkl, which splits anime into separate entries per season, keep all seasons grouped under a single title entry (similar to Trakt or TMDB) to avoid clutter. API Integration: Ensure future API endpoints reflect this architecture by returning Movies, Shows, and Anime watchlist/history/favorites separately. Optional: Include an option to "Hide Anime as a separate category" for casual viewers who prefer keeping all animated movies and shows merged into the standard Movies and Shows sections.
Smart Lists
It would be useful to add the ability to create smart lists that are automatically populated with movies and TV shows based on conditions selected by the user. For example, a user could create a smart list called “DC Movies” and configure it to automatically include every movie with the DC tag. After that, whenever the user assigns the DC tag to a movie, it would automatically appear in the corresponding smart list without needing to be added manually. As part of this feature, users could also create and assign their own custom tags to movies and TV shows. Smart list conditions could include: custom tags genres TV networks and streaming services, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, HBO Max, or Disney+ content type movies or TV shows watch status release year rating other available filters. Users could create smart lists using either their own custom tags or standard filters available on the site. It would also be helpful to support multiple conditions within a single smart list. For example: Tag: DC Content type: Movie Watch status: Not watched In this case, only unwatched movies with the DC tag would be automatically added to the list. This feature would make it possible to create automatically updated collections for different themes, such as Marvel and DC movies, Netflix series, anime, releases from a specific year, or content the user plans to watch. When a tag is removed or an item no longer matches the selected conditions, the movie or TV show should also be automatically removed from the smart list.
Segmented series progress bar
Trakt V2 had a wonderful presentation for progress in shows one might watch out of order, or otherwise skip around. For me it would be series like Last Week Tonight, which I wouldn’t catch every episode of. The progress bar shown below such series would have gaps in it representing the unwatched episodes. As a simple example, let’s say Demo Series has 10 episodes, and I’ve watched episodes 1, 2, 3, 6, and 8. The progress bar would look like this (here’s hoping ASCII block elements work on this feedback site!): ▓▓▓░░▓░▓░░ That makes it super easy to see not only that I’m not caught up, but that some of my missing progress is before the most recent episode I saw. It’s disappointing that I couldn’t find ANY screenshot examples of this from the old Trakt UI in image search. I could only find screenshots of the awful redesign, except for one shot of the old progress page that didn’t have the segments option turned on (solid bars, no gaps). But I will come back and post a proper example if I ever do find one! If I’ve missed an existing idea, please forgive me! I scrolled through all search results for “progress” and didn’t see anything like this.
Notify Watching Show is Cancelled
I don’t know the best way to surface this, but too often a show I am watching gets cancelled and I don’t know until maybe years later when I wonder “what ever happened to that show?”
Automatic scheduled data backups
Allow user to schedule daily/weekly/monthly backups of all data, local or online. Ideally, these backups can then also be used to re-import into WeTrakr. This would give peace of mind in case of data loss, or if by mistake the user deletes important data and needs to recover it.
Profile Privacy should not be a VIP *only* Feature
On the “What does VIP unlock” page, under Profile and personalization, the following feature is listed: Profile privacy: control who can see your profile page. This currently implies that profile privacy is a VIP-exclusive feature. Profile privacy should not be a VIP-exclusive feature. Privacy should be enabled by default for all users, regardless of their subscription level. Users should have control over who can view their profile without needing to upgrade to VIP.
Separate anime and animation as genres
Anime is currently listed under the “Animation” genre. Media culture separates Japanese anime from Western animation, and I think WeTrakr should reflect that
"Wrapped" spotify/letterboxd-like before the end of the year
Each year, around mid-december, Spotify/Trakt/Letterboxd and other websites/services release their annual “wrapped”, which is the moment where users can see and share on social media all of their stats of the year WeTrakr already has this through the Stats tab in profile, so my idea is to send a e-mail to users before the end of the year with all of these stats + being able to generate their own “card” (like Spotify does) with a resume of their most important stats to share in social, which would indirectly promote WeTrakr to non-users
Collection
It might be interesting to add a "collection list" to indicate which movies and TV shows you own on DVD, Blu-ray, digital, etc.

Ignore initial articles like "A", "An", and "The" in title sorting
When sorting alphabetically, it’d be more logical if titles like The Dark Knight sorted into D instead T. This prevents an unmanageable cluster of titles starting with the same word, and it makes finding items easier when a user cannot remember if the title includes an article.
Add option to "Refresh Data" source from TMDB
Inspired by Trakt, it should be a VIP feature to not overload with requests to refresh data Could be useful to have thumbnails, posters and episode titles more quickly in WeTrakr
Allow users to choose a list type
When I add a TV show using the “Add new” button, it adds not only the show itself but also all of its episodes. This is inconvenient when I only want to create a list of TV shows. It would be useful to choose the list type when creating a new list: Movies TV Shows Episodes Mixed For example, adding a show to a TV Shows list should add only the show itself. Episodes should only be added to an Episodes list or when the user specifically chooses to include them. Bulk deletion of episodes It would also be handy to select several episodes and then delete or move them all at once. At the moment, you have to delete each episode individually, which takes a long time, especially if all the episodes in a series were added automatically.
'new on digital' and 'Latest Premieres' hasn't updated in ages
Neither of these have updated in a very long time (I don’t think I’ve seen them update once since joining) even though there has been plenty of premieres and also digital releases that have happened since the 27th of March.
Click rating badge to rate movie / tv show
As the title says. Click rating badge to open rating menu. It's a faster way to rate something
Streaming Accounts Failing to Sync
Streaming accounts failing to sync. NF, Disney, HBO, Prime
Movie titles and synopsis are translated even if english is set as preferred language
The language seems to be changing based on my selected country (Brazil). The fix i found was to change it to United States, since then, titles stopped being translated
Stremio scrobbling bug
Yesterday I turned on Project Hail Mary for a minute to check something out. It marked that in watched section but there is no item in the "View Tracking history”
Watch time per day
First of all, I want to praise the platform's visual design and the quality of its features. The customization options for the profile layout, the item list, and the list itself turned out excellently. - - - - - - - - Now, I’d like to offer a suggestion, for whenever you have the chance, of course. It would be great if the viewing history were separated by day (for example, the image shows a separation between August 3rd and 4th). With this separation, it would be possible to display the total hours watched each day. This figure would increase with every new episode or movie watched throughout the day. On that same history page, the time each item was watched could also be displayed. Thanks for your time.
Recent search history
It would be useful to introduce a Recent Searches feature, allowing users to quickly return to films or TV shows (or other items) they have previously searched for without needing to type the title again. The feature could include: A list of the user’s most recent searches. The ability to remove individual items. A Clear All option. An optional expanded view for accessing a longer search history, rather than only showing the last few items. This would be particularly helpful when a user searches for a title but does not immediately add it to their watchlist or mark it as watched. A recent search history would make it easier to return to that title later and continue where they left off. Every search represents some level of interest or intention. Even when no further action is taken at the time, retaining recent searches provides a useful reminder and removes the need for users to remember the exact title and search for it again. This could work alongside the existing Trending Searches feature rather than replacing it. For example, recent searches could appear above the trending section, with trending searches moved slightly further down. Based on the current layout, there appears to be enough space to display a small number of recent searches without making the interface feel crowded. Reddit’s search interface is a good example of how recent and trending searches can be presented together in a clean and intuitive way. I have attached a short video showing Reddit’s current implementation as a reference.
